Back in 2023, I could post at 8 or 9 PM and get nice engagement, like instantly. Now in 2025, I post at that same time and it’s crickets
Meanwhile, I dropped a random TikTok at 8 AM one morning and boom, it did way better. So yeah, something definitely changed.
What I’ve Been Testing Lately
I’ve been kinda experimenting with different times just to see what sticks. I know everyone says “consistency is key,” but time still matters, right?
Here’s what I found so far (nothing fancy):
- Morning (around 8–9 AM): views come in slower but they keep building through the day.
- Afternoon (2–4 PM): it’s hit or miss. Some days it flies, others it flops.
- Evening (7–10 PM): used to be golden, but now it’s honestly random.
Anyone else notice that? Or am I just posting at cursed times
TikTok Seems to Be a Morning App Now
I think the TikTok algorithm in 2025 kinda favors earlier uploads. Maybe it’s cause there’s less competition or people check their feed before work/school?
I’ve been posting around 8 AM lately, and the engagement’s honestly way better. Like one of my simple lip-sync videos from last week started slow but took off by lunch. Same type of clip I posted at night barely moved.
So yeah, I’m starting to believe mornings might be the new “prime time.”
What’s your best posting window these days? Morning or late night?
YouTube Shorts Is a Whole Other Story
Shorts doesn’t play by the same rules, I swear
TikTok feels more instant, while Shorts can blow up a few days later. It’s weird but also nice cause you get that “delayed surprise.”
I had a short clip sit at 500 views for two days, then suddenly jumped to 9k. No idea why maybe the YouTube algorithm finally picked it up.
What Other Creators Are Saying
So I asked a few friends who also post TikToks, and everyone’s story is different:
- One guy posts at 6 AM, swears it’s the best time to post on TikTok in 2025.
- Another only drops at 10 PM cause he gets more U.S. traffic.
- Someone else said timing doesn’t matter at all, just the hook.
For me though, being consistent seems to help more than chasing the “perfect” time. The algorithm notices if you show up often.
Do you post daily or just when you feel like it?
Some Random Tips That Actually Helped Me
Here’s a few small things I’ve noticed that improved my engagement (besides timing):
- Check your analytics — see when followers are active.
- Avoid posting right after midnight (my views die there).
- Repost videos that flopped — sometimes they blow up later.
- Add captions and trending sounds — still makes a difference.
How I Post Now
Right now my posting schedule’s kinda simple:
- TikTok: 8 AM and 1 PM
- YouTube Shorts: 12:30 PM
The cool part is once you figure out when your people are online, the rest starts clicking.
Do you usually check your analytics or just go with your gut?
Real Talk — There’s No “Perfect” Time
I know everyone wants a clear answer, but honestly, there’s no universal magic time to post on TikTok or Shorts anymore.
The platforms keep changing, trends move fast, and your audience might be totally different from mine.
But one thing’s for sure , early engagement still matters. If your followers interact right away, it tells the algorithm your video’s worth pushing.
So, yeah, experiment. Test different times for a week or two. Once you find a pattern, stick with it.
What About You?
I’m curious, when do you guys post your TikToks or Shorts lately?
