I see conflicting advice on this. some people say you need 50+ posts, others say 10 really good posts is enough
I currently have 12 blog posts published. Should I focus on writing more posts or improving the ones I have?
How many blog posts do I need to start getting traffic?
Re: How many blog posts do I need to start getting traffic?
You need at least 30-50 solid blog posts before you'll see consistent traffic
here's why quantity matters:
my recommendation:
here's why quantity matters:
- more pages = more chances to rank for different keywords
- google sees active sites differently than sites with just a few posts
- topical authority - covering a topic thoroughly signals expertise
- internal linking opportunities - you can link between related posts
- blog 1: published 10 posts, gave up - never got past 20 visitors/day
- blog 2: published 35 posts over 6 months - started getting 200-300 visitors/day by month 9
- blog 3: published 80 posts over 12 months - now getting 2,000+ visitors/day
my recommendation:
- aim to publish 40-50 posts before you judge if your blog is working
- post consistently (2-3 times per week if possible)
- after you hit 50 posts, then go back and optimize the top performers

Re: How many blog posts do I need to start getting traffic?
I'm going to completely disagree here. quality beats quantity every time
I have a blog with only 18 posts that gets 800 visitors per day. Each post is 3000+ words, thoroughly researched, and actually helpful
Compare that to blogs with 100 mediocre 500-word posts getting 200 visitors per day
why quality matters more:
what makes a post exceptional:
one amazing post beats ten mediocre posts. always
