What’s the Funniest Comment You’ve Ever Gotten on Your Content?

I swear, sometimes the comments are funnier than the actual videos. When I first started YouTube, I thought the hardest part would be editing or titles. It turns out it’s keeping a straight face when some random person on the internet absolutely roasts you or says something that makes no sense at all.
My First “Weird” Comment
I still remember my very first weird comment. I uploaded this 3-minute vlog where I was just testing out my camera. Literally nothing special. Some guy wrote: “This looks like a potato filmed it but I kinda like it.”
That’s when I realized… comments kinda make the whole creator journey fun. Even the weird ones.
When Comments Are Unintentionally Hilarious
Sometimes people don’t mean to be funny, but the way they phrase things is pure comedy. Example: I once made a TikTok showing how I edit thumbnails. Someone commented: “Bro you edit like my dad writes emails.”
Or the classic “this video cured my depression” comment on literally the dumbest video you’ve ever made. Like, sir, it’s just me unboxing cheap headphones, calm down.
Roasts That Lowkey Make You Better
Not gonna lie, some funny comments sting a bit, but they push you too. One time a viewer said: “This edit looks like it was done on Windows Movie Maker in 2005.” I was salty for a second, but then I realized… they weren’t wrong
It’s wild how the funniest comments sometimes end up being the ones that help you improve.
My Personal Favorite
Hands down the best one I ever got was under a gaming clip. I was playing badly, like really badly, and some dude wrote: “I’ve seen NPCs play better than you.” I had to stop the stream because I was laughing so hard. My chat wouldn’t let it go either—they started calling me NPC Sam for weeks.
Honestly, moments like that are what make streaming fun. The interaction, even when it’s roasting, keeps you going.
Weirdly Specific Comments
Another type I love? The super random, overly specific comments. Like, you’ll post a vlog about making breakfast and someone will write: “This reminds me of the time in 2012 when my hamster escaped and I had to chase it while holding a bowl of cereal.”
Bro… what?
Funny vs Toxic
Now, I’m not talking about the nasty toxic stuff—those can hurt, and that’s a whole other conversation. I’m talking about the lighthearted, silly comments that make you laugh. I think every small creator has at least one. And honestly, sometimes they’re the thing that keeps you uploading when your views are tiny.
Like, when I had 12 subs, one person commented: “Congrats on hitting double digits, next stop the moon
Other Creators, Same Struggles
I’ve heard podcasters say they get wild DMs instead of comments. One podcaster friend of mine said someone once emailed him just to say: “Your voice sounds like bread.” BREAD. He still has no idea if it was meant as an insult or a compliment.
Twitch streamers? They get the fastest roasts live in chat. One girl I follow said she was playing Valorant and missed a shot, and someone typed: “My grandma’s reflexes are faster.” Brutal but hilarious.
Even on blogs, people leave random stuff. I saw someone comment on a recipe post: “I tried this and burned water instead.” That one still makes me laugh.
Why Funny Comments Matter
Here’s the thing though, funny comments do more than just make us laugh. They:
- Break the stress when you’re frustrated with low views.
- Remind you that real humans are watching, not just numbers.
- Often spark inside jokes with your audience (which builds community).
- Make you memorable—people will come back just to drop another funny line.
Your Turn
Okay, enough about my stories
What’s the funniest, weirdest, or most random comment you’ve ever gotten on your content? Was it a roast, a compliment that didn’t sound like a compliment, or just something so bizarre you had to screenshot it?
Drop it below,.I swear, these kinds of threads end up being gold. Sometimes I find myself laughing harder at comment stories than actual comedy videos.
