I hit the requirements for tiktok creator fund (10k followers and 100k views in 30 days) and i'm wondering if it's actually worth joining

I've heard people say it kills your views and the money is terrible anyway. but i've also heard people say they make decent money from it

What's the real story? should i join the creator fund or avoid it?

I've been in the creator fund for 8 months and my views haven't dropped at all. currently making about $200-300 per month from it

The payment is low (i get about $0.02-0.05 per 1000 views) but it's passive income for content i'm making anyway. every little bit helps when you're building a business

I think the "creator fund kills your views" thing is mostly confirmation bias. people join the fund when they're already getting good views, then natural fluctuation happens and they blame the fund

correlation doesn't equal causation. there's no actual proof that joining the fund causes view drops

That said, you shouldn't rely on creator fund as your main income. use it as bonus money while you build other revenue streams like brand deals, affiliate marketing, digital products, etc

i'd say join it if you meet the requirements. worst case you can leave if you think it's affecting your views

I joined the creator fund and I regret it. my views dropped by like 40% within a week

before joining: averaging 50k views per video
after joining: averaging 30k views per video

and the money? i made $67 for 2 million views that month. literally $0.03 per 1000 views. completely not worth it

a lot of creators have reported the same thing - views drop after joining. tiktok has never confirmed this but it's happened to too many people to be a coincidence

if you want to make money from tiktok do brand deals instead. i make way more from one $500 brand deal than i made in 6 months of creator fund

don't join the creator fund. focus on building your audience and getting sponsorships instead
