Does posting consistently really matter for YouTube growth?

Everyone says you need to post consistently to grow on youtube but i've seen channels that post once a month with millions of views and channels that post daily with barely any views

Is consistency actually important or is it just something people say? i'm struggling to post weekly and wondering if i should stress about it or just post when i have good content ready

What's been your experience with posting frequency and growth?

Consistency is overrated honestly. i've grown way faster since i stopped forcing myself to post on a schedule

I used to post every wednesday no matter what. some videos were great, some were rushed and mediocre. my overall performance was inconsistent

Now I post when i have something genuinely worth posting. sometimes that's twice a week, sometimes i go 2 weeks without posting. and my channel has grown faster than when i was "consistent"

youtube rewards good content, not consistent content. one really good video that gets high CTR and retention will do more for your growth than three mediocre videos posted on schedule

The channels you mentioned with millions of views posting monthly prove that quality beats frequency. focus on making every video as good as possible rather than hitting arbitrary posting schedules

If you're burning out trying to post weekly, slow down. better to post every 2 weeks with great content than weekly with rushed content

Consistency matters a lot more than people think, especially when you're small

The youtube algorithm gives more impressions to channels that post regularly. if you disappear for 3 weeks, youtube starts showing your channel to fewer people because you're not "active"

I tested this by accident when i took a month off. when i came back my first video got 60% fewer impressions than normal. took about 3-4 videos of consistent posting before my impressions recovered

you don't need to post daily though. once a week is plenty as long as you stick to it. the algorithm likes predictability. if you post every tuesday, youtube knows to check your channel every tuesday and start promoting your video

those big channels that post once a month and still get views already have massive audiences and authority. that doesn't apply when you're trying to grow

pick a schedule you can actually maintain (even if it's twice a month) and stick to it. that's better than posting 3 times one week then nothing for a month
