Okay so real talk, my YouTube niche (how-to videos for bloggers) got so dry last year. I’d open YouTube Studio and just think, “what else can I say about SEO that hasn’t been said 10,000 times?”

What helped:

• I started watching small creators in totally different niches. Like a fishing channel, or a cooking vlogger. Wild, but their storytelling gave me ideas.
• I also checked Google’s “People Also Ask” — those questions are gold for content ideas.
• I shared one random “blogging burnout” story and it blew up. It turns out being real works better than another SEO checklist.

Anyone else feel like your niche went stale but you found a way to bring it back?

Oh man, this hit. I run a tiny writing channel and it’s like, how many times can I talk about writer’s block? I started adding short behind-the-scenes clips, like my messy desk or bloopers and people loved it so much and I was so surprised.

Yes! I stopped doing “tips” videos and started doing “my mistakes” videos. People seem to relate more when you’re not pretending to have it all figured out. It’s weirdly freeing.
