Can't decide if I should focus on tiktok or instagram reels first

This might be a dumb question but I'm going crazy trying to do both tiktok and instagram at the same time and I'm doing a terrible job at both. I know everyone says to repurpose content across platforms but honestly the editing styles are different enough that it takes me forever
I'm making lifestyle and morning routine type content. i've posted 15 videos on tiktok (got about 1,200 followers) and 12 on instagram (only 340 followers there)
If you could only focus on ONE platform to start with, which would you pick and why? i feel like i need to get good at one before spreading myself too thin across both

Honestly, I'd say stick with tiktok since you already have more traction there. 1,200 followers from 15 videos is pretty solid growth
I tried doing both at the same time too and it burned me out so fast. now i just post everything to tiktok first, and if a video does really well there (like 50k+ views) then i'll repost it to reels. but i don't stress about posting to reels consistently anymore
tiktok's algorithm is way more forgiving for new creators imo. instagram feels like you need an existing audience to get any reach at all, whereas tiktok will randomly push your stuff to people even if you have zero followers
focus on tiktok, get to like 10k followers there, THEN worry about instagram. you'll also have way more content experience by then so your reels will probably perform better anyway

I'm going to disagree slightly here. If you're doing lifestyle content i'd actually lean towards instagram reels because that audience tends to have more spending power and brands prefer instagram for partnerships
BUT since you already have 1200 on tiktok vs 340 on instagram, you've kind of answered your own question. momentum matters a lot in content creation and you have momentum on tiktok
here's what i'd do: post 5-6 days a week on tiktok consistently. then once a week, take your best performing tiktok from that week and repost it to reels. that way you're not abandoning instagram completely but you're not splitting your focus either
once you hit like 5k on tiktok you can reassess. but right now just commit to one platform fully or you'll stay mediocre at both
