Why did you start a YouTube Channel?

What was it that made you want to start a YouTube channel?
For me, I had just started my hiking and outdoor journey as an adult. I was posting my photos on Facebook when a co-worker said I should make videos for YouTube so we could watch it on his phone.
So, I gave it a shot, and it got popular shortly after.
How about you all? Why did you start your YouTube channel to begin with?
