I'm starting from scratch with a new blog. What should I focus on first to build a strong seo foundation?

Forget all the technical stuff at first

Just focus on:

1. Writing really good content
2. Targeting keywords you can actually rank for
3. Posting consistently

That's it. everything else is optimization that comes later

I wasted 3 months obsessing over technical SEO when i should've just been writing more content

Technical stuff matters but content matters 10x more

Here's what I'd do starting over:

month 1-3:

• Publish 20-30 high quality posts
• Each 1500+ words
• Target low competition keywords
• Focus on answering specific questions
• Get basic technical stuff right (fast hosting, ssl, mobile friendly)

month 4-6:

• Start building backlinks (guest posting, broken link building)
• Update and improve existing posts
• Add internal links between posts
• Keep publishing 2-3 new posts per week

month 7-12:

• Double down on what's working
• Target slightly more competitive keywords
• Build topical authority (cover everything in your niche)
• Get more backlinks

most important things:

• Consistency (don't give up at month 3)
• Quality content (better than what's ranking)
• Patience (results take 6-12 months)

Strong seo isn't built in a month. It's built over a year
