How much does 1 billion views on YouTube pay?

I saw someone with a billion views on his video. It's a lot to be honest but I really want to know how much money that video can actually make?

It actually depends on RPM but based on rough math:

Low RPM ($2): $2 million
Medium RPM ($5): $5 million
High RPM ($15): $15 million

But that video took years to get a billion views. It's not overnight money. Also youtube takes 45% so cut those numbers basically in half.

Most billion view videos are music videos with terrible RPM, probably made like $500k-1M total over several years. They don't make as much as you'd think. Another thing is that the creator might not even own the rights to the revenue
