I have been trying to figure out if being a YouTuber is realistic as a side income. So, I want to know how many views are needed for me to make about $2k in a month?

It depends entirely on your niche

My RPM is $18 so i need about 110k views per month to make $2k

Gaming channels need like 800k-1M views for same money because RPM is $2-3

Here is the breakdown:
Finance/business: 100-150k views
Tech: 200-300k views
Lifestyle: 300-400k views
Gaming: 800k-1M views

It's a bad strategy to rely only on adsense for income

I make $2k/month from youtube but only $600 is adsense. The rest is:

• affiliates: $900
• sponsorships: $500

It’s easier to get $2k total than $2k from adsense alone. So, you need to diversify.
