How to get more engagement on LinkedIn posts?

Post by SocialBee »

My linkedin posts are getting views (500-800 impressions) but barely any engagement. maybe 10-15 likes and 1-2 comments if i'm lucky

How do i get people to actually engage instead of just scrolling past? i see other people with similar follower counts getting 50+ comments and i don't understand what they're doing differently

The problem is probably that your posts are too generic or "business-y"

linkedin engagement comes from emotional connection, not just information sharing

compare these two posts:

boring: "Here are 5 tips for better time management: 1. prioritize tasks 2. use calendar blocking..."

engaging: "last tuesday i missed my daughter's recital because i was 'too busy' at work. i realized my time management wasn't the problem. my priorities were. here's what changed..."

see the difference? the second one makes people feel something and want to keep reading

linkedin posts that get high engagement:
- personal failure stories with lessons learned
- vulnerable posts about struggles (people love authenticity)
- controversial takes that challenge industry norms
- behind the scenes of your wins and losses

stop trying to sound like a corporate blog. write like you're talking to a friend over coffee. be real, be vulnerable, show personality

professional doesn't mean boring. the most successful linkedin creators are authentic and human, not polished and corporate

Low engagement despite decent impressions means your content isn't compelling people to stop and interact

here's what dramatically increased my linkedin engagement:

1. end with a question
instead of just sharing info, ask for people's opinions or experiences. "what's your take on this?" or "have you experienced this?"

2. make it controversial (but professional)
challenge common assumptions in your industry. "unpopular opinion: [take]" posts get way more engagement

3. use the first line to hook them
linkedin shows only the first line before the "...see more" button. make it curiosity-inducing

4. engage first, post second
before posting your own content, spend 15 minutes commenting on other posts. linkedin's algorithm rewards users who engage before posting

5. respond to every comment quickly
the more comments your post gets in the first hour, the more linkedin shows it to people. reply to everyone fast to create comment momentum

i went from 10 likes per post to 80+ likes and 20+ comments by doing this consistently

also post between 7-9am on tuesday-thursday. that's when engagement is highest
