What is the most used SEO tool?

Post by Tems »

Trying to get serious about seo for my channel and blog. What tools do people actually use? There's like a million options and I don't know where to start

Most people use one of these three:

Ahrefs - $99/month
  • Best for backlink analysis
  • Keyword research is solid
  • What i use personally
  • Expensive but worth it if you're serious
Semrush - $120/month
  • Better for competitor analysis
  • More features than ahrefs
  • Steeper learning curve
Ubersuggest - $29/month
  • Budget option
  • Good enough for beginners
  • Neil patel's tool
For youtube specifically, tubebuddy and vidiq are what everyone uses. Both have free versions

I'd start with free tools first. google search console and youtube studio analytics are free and give you tons of data

Don't pay for tools until you actually know what you're doing

I have been doing seo for 3 years and never paid for a tool

The free stuff I use:
  • Google search console (shows what you rank for)
  • Google keyword planner (free keyword ideas)
  • Answerthepublic (question research)
  • Youtube search autocomplete (literally just start typing)
Paid tools are nice but not necessary. i grew my blog to 100k monthly visitors using only free tools

Save your money and invest in content creation instead

People who say you NEED ahrefs are usually affiliates trying to get commission lol

That said if you have money to spend, ahrefs is definitely the best
