I've been posting at random times and i think that might be hurting my reach. what time do you post and have you noticed a difference in performance?
I've heard everything from "post at 6am" to "post at 9pm" and i'm confused about what actually works
What's the best time to post on Instagram?

Posting time definitely matters but it's different for everyone based on YOUR specific audience
go to your instagram insights > total followers > scroll down to "most active times" and it literally tells you when your followers are online
for me that's:
- weekdays: 12pm-1pm and 7pm-9pm
- weekends: 10am-12pm and 8pm-10pm
I tested posting at my "optimal times" vs random times and the difference was significant. same content, posted at optimal time got 60% more reach in the first hour
That first hour of engagement is crucial. Instagram uses it to determine if they should show your post to more people. so posting when your audience is actually online matters a lot
BUT don't sacrifice content quality to hit a specific time. better to post great content at a "bad" time than mediocre content at the "perfect" time

Re: What's the best time to post on Instagram?
I'm gonna disagree and say posting time barely matters anymore with the algorithm
Instagram doesn't show content chronologically. your followers might not see your post for hours or days after you post it depending on their feed algorithm
I posted at 3am and had reels blow up. i've posted at "optimal times" and gotten terrible reach. there's no consistency
what matters way more than timing:
- how quickly people engage in the first 30 minutes (instagram tests your content with a small group first)
- your caption and hook making people stop scrolling
- whether people save or share your content
- how long people watch your reels
focus on creating content worth engaging with. the time you post is like 5% of the equation at most
That said, i do try to avoid posting when i know i'll be busy and can't respond to comments. being active and responsive right after posting does seem to help
