My views just dropped 60% overnight and i'm panicking

Post by RisingAdmin »

I don't know what happened but my last 4 videos have completely tanked and I'm freaking out a bit. my videos were consistently getting 2k-4k views each and now suddenly i'm getting like 400-600 views and i have no idea why

I didn't change anything about my content. same editing style, same posting schedule (tuesdays and fridays), same type of thumbnails. but it's like youtube just stopped showing my videos to people

Is this the algorithm punishing me for something? did i get shadowbanned? i checked and I don't have any community guideline strikes or copyright issues. My subscriber count is still growing slowly so it's not like people are unsubscribing

Has this happened to anyone else? did your views come back or is this just my new normal now? i'm worried i did something wrong but i can't figure out what

Okay so i'm gonna give you some actual advice instead of just "trust the process" BS

Go into your youtube studio and compare your recent videos to your older successful ones. look at:
- click through rate (should be above 4% ideally)
- average view duration (are people clicking away faster than usual?)
- traffic sources (are you getting less Browse Features traffic?)

i'm betting your CTR dropped or your AVD is lower and youtube is showing your videos to fewer people because viewers aren't engaging as much. this isn't shadowbanning, it's just youtube's system working as designed

if your thumbnails and titles are similar to before but views dropped, it might mean your audience is getting tired of that style. try switching up your thumbnail design or title format for the next few videos and see if that helps

views dropping sucks but it's usually fixable once you figure out what metrics changed

This happened to me back in august and i almost quit youtube over it. went from 5k average views to 800 literally overnight

turns out youtube was just testing my content with a different audience or something? I never got a clear answer but after about 3 weeks my views slowly came back. not quite to where they were before but close enough

The worst thing you can do is panic and completely change your content style. I made that mistake and it confused the algorithm even more. just keep posting consistently and don't overthink it

also check your click through rate and average view duration for those recent videos. Sometimes it's not the algorithm, it's just that those specific videos aren't as interesting to your audience as you thought
